The Bookkeeping Company Inc. The Bookkeeping Co., Inc. has internship opportunities available for the most promising DISCOVERBOOKKEEPING participants. Participants gain real-world, hands-on experience with one of The Bookkeeping Company Inc.’s current clients and perform routine bookkeeping duties: accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and other administrative tasks related to maintaining clientele relations. These apprenticeships are un-paid; however, they may develop into part-time or full-time paid positions upon successful completion of the apprenticeships Brooklyn Job Corps Through a community partnership with Brooklyn Job Corp, human resources specialist Nelson Resto enriches our program with workshops that capture the essential elements of a top-notch interview. In three employability workshops, he covers preparation, the do’s and don’ts of interviewing, and the follow-up process. Mr. Resto and the Brooklyn Job Corps have volunteered their time to assist our participants in this series of the career development seminars. Robert Half International- Accountemps Erik Santos, a human resources representative for Accountemps, volunteers his time by providing participants the opportunity to improve their interviewing skills. Mr. Santos is in direct contact with current employers and knows what they seek in the assortment of potential entry-level accounting positions available in New York City. He is their direct link to the workforce in the advice he imparts and the means to place individuals in temporary positions within his agency. Workforce1/One Stop Centers Located in all five boroughs of New York City, Workforce1/One Stop Centers are a direct source of enrollment for DISCOVERBOOKKEEPING. Over 70% of our participants are from the Workforce1/One Stop Centers and, as participants in the Workforce1 Program, these individuals receive financial aid for travel & supplies needs through a voucher program. |
